What is the subject or topic of the essay?
Some people take pictures that look like they could be a painting.

How did you respond to the essay? What impact did it have on you?
I think its a nice and interesting essay. I like art, and i love to take pictures, combining the two makes it look interesting and lovely.

What makes the photos effective? How do they tell their story?
The photos are effective because each photo taken captures a moment, story, or it says something meaningful. The photographer had a meaning or reason behind the photo(s) he/she took. Each photo taken was taken in an angle and lighting that made it look beautiful. A picture is worth 1,000 words, and its up to your imagination to think up those words.

How much copy accompanies each photo? What makes the copy effective?
There are eleven photos of fresh food. The copies show a wide variety of the same topic. Its effective because you can see many ways one thing can be captured in a beautiful picture.

The essay was really amazing and sad. It had a huge impact on me, and it really touched my heart.Seeing her being abused, and knowing that her daughter had to watch it just broke my heart.

What makes the photos effective? How do they tell their story?
The photos capture emotion, and physical abuse. The photographer followed Maggie around and took pictures of each event that took place, which told the story.

How much copy accompanies each photo? What makes the copy e ffective?
Not much copy takes place. It is more like a sequence of events.

Too late

You never listened to my loud cries
You never saw the tears form in my eyes

Your heart is deaf and blind of love I see
You never cared about me being happy

Every word and every action showed how you never cared
Slowly you pushed away everything we shared

Now that i'm gone you just have to miss
Every look, every touch, every hug, every kiss

You have had so many chances to make things right
Now you have to get through this long cold night

Thinking of what you could have done
Knowing that you wanted me to be "the one"

But now it's sadly too late to go back in time
Now i'm no longer yours.. and your no longer mine...

-Victoria H.

im obsessed with the song "MIRRORS" by Justin Timberlake.

Is it better to give someone your in love with "another chance" or to just walk away...? What if you have already given so many chances... and they chase after you ... do they really deserve another chance with your heart...?

                          Maree

Maree is an 11th grader from Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She moved here when she was about four years old. When asked what kind of food was her favorite she was stuck between "Italian and Chinese". In her free time she likes to "paint nails, do hair, do makeup, take pictures, hangout with friends, and eat" for fun. She also enjoys listening to music. When she does listen to music she listens to "a little bit of everything." I asked her who her inspiration was and she replied, " My Nana, because she seems to be so happy, and she loves her life, she is a family person, and she was happy working in the Salon, and I want to work in a Salon just like her". Maree loves the summer, in fact, that is her favorite season! Even though she enjoys her life as a teen, she "misses having no responsibilities" when she was a kid.
